oasisdisco 10 Jun 2009 what a great video..iv seen those stables and always wondered what they look like inside. I think the police should give guided tours of their stables, and charge say a £10.00 entrance fee. Their seems to be more staff their than horses !!!
David Marlin 6 May 2009 Thanks for commenting. I'm new to blogging and didn't realise I could comment back! A job like mine? Not sure how I got here myself. I was training with Judy Harvey (Dressage rider and ex BD selector) when I saw a PhD in horse exercise advertised at the Animal Health Trust in Newmarket. I was lucky enough to get the position and it sort of went from there. As a follow up to the City of London Police horses, we found that the ventilation system was not working and so after some discussion with the maintainance team it was sorted and that seemed to help. We also gave some other advice on flooring. We are going to follow up in a month or so. But considering the size of the horses and the location, the horses were in great shape and very well looked after. As you say, good to see working horses well cared for.
horsemadmandy 11 Apr 2009 Hi - I think that some horses need a job. Well done you guys - such a huge area the welfare of the horse and difficult to say anything without offending someone! How do you apply for a job like yours? Ventilation and air for these guys hard to answer without a visit - thanks for sharing!
