About this video

This is your chance to find out about famous Hickstead! Irish show jumping team member Shane Breen is based at the show-ground with his wife Chloe, daughter of the late Douglas Bunn. Chloe tells Fiona Price about the history of Hickstead, what Douglas set out to achieve and the famous horses that have lived there. We also take a look at the Derby course. Shane explains how the Bank came about and what it's like to ride, also why the Devil's Dyke is so tricky. The Derby is special to Shane and Chloe as they have shared third place in it! We also go inside the historic farmhouse and find out about Shane's rather unusual career plans!

euterpe 1 Jan 2010 I think my heart jumped up into my throat when the camera peered over the bank! I'll stick to my prancing ponies in dressage, thanks!
Farrieress 31 Dec 2009 Omg!!!! That bank looks very scary, more so looking directly down rather than from slightly off which is the normal camera view. What a lovely video, what I would give for the oppotunity to ride at Hickstead but lovely to see the place so appreciated!!!!!!! Once again a fab insight thank you.
hhhorse 31 Dec 2009 Really enjoyed this video. What a charming yet unassuming couple!

christina 31 Dec 2009 The bank looks even scarier from that filming angle!
