About this video
Aimee Devane at Polly Williamson’s Wiltshire yard, with Laura Bechtolsheimer presenting. Filmed at the end of the winter on a horse having his last clip, Aimee demonstrates how to get into those awkward nooks and crannies and shows the differences between a trace, blanket and hunter clip.

Aimee Devane's clipping tips

  • As well as clippers, you need clipper oil, a brush and something to stand on.
  • Aimee also uses smaller clippers for the head area.
  • Introduce clippers to horses slowly so that they become accustomed to the noise and sensation.

star 1 Jul 2008 This clip was brilliant and full of useful information on the specifics of clipping and what's important. I admit I am not very confident at clipping as once the hair is gone its gone and my technique is not very good, however watching this video has boosted my confidence. So for anyone who is learning, watch this first (and thanks to Aimee)!
