Yesterday I took a few horses to Patchetts BSJA, one of which was a new horse Milly Molly Mandy, who has come in to be sold. She was sooo cool! I’ve ridden her a few times at home, and thought she’s quite sweet, but I’m much keener having taken her to a competition! Lots of people commented on what a great jumper she was.
I took her cross country schooling at Tweseldown today, as I’m thinking of possibly running her at Milton Keynes this weekend, if the organiser will let me swap her in for Harry, who I will have to withdraw. She went well today, although was slightly greener across country than in the show jumping yesterday.
I met an old friend there, Cressy Clague-Reading, who used to event, and is probably best known for producing Carousel Quest, the horse on whom Oli Townend won Burghley. Cress turned to show jumping a few years ago. She got married last year, and is now pregnant, so has stopped riding. She asked me to ride a mare, Rosie, for her who she has been jumping, but thinks has got ‘event horse’ written all over her, so I will see what I think! The plan is to get Rosie out eventing as soon as possible, and then find a home for her.
So all in all we are very busy at Corner Farm at the moment! Lots of horses to ride, a few to sell, keeps me out of trouble! Until next timeā¦.
