Stable bandage worries
Hi Freya23
There is a very easy way to avoid all the problems with stable bandages - head to your nearest chemist (or even pound shop if you are lucky) and buy some tubular elasticated bandage (tubigrip).

Hi ShesmyQTpie
It is very difficult to diagnose any thing without seeing the horse, let alone an itch!

Tildren injections for arthritis?
Sorry I have not had any personal experience of Tildren – there are several forum entries on its use on the internet, but if it were me I would ask your vet what the pros and cons are of its use.

Horse was ill, now his coat is not right
Believe me, there is no sign of my spare tyre disappearing, I live in hope, my new diet regime [1/3 soaked hay-net] is being thwarted by YO, who has been topping him up, in case he felt a bit hungry!

Horses & pesticides
In the UK and I think other places farmers only spray on calm days so less chance of drift, you could ask farmer to let you know when he is going to spray and stable them ten.

Suspensory ligament injury
Hi Chescar
How well your horse recovers and what he will be able to do afterwards depends on what damage he has done to the ligament, how well it heals and how carefuly you bring him back in to work again when it is fully healed.

My horse is standing oddly!
Hi Fonax
A bit pottery when trotting is lame by another name – if your horse is not moving properly he is lame and either something is hurting when he moves and/or he is physically unable to move properly.

Unreasonable vet's bill?
I have to assume that the cut was more than superficial, else you would not have called the vet out.

Bad hooves
I also love the Kevin BAcon hoof dressing - unfortunately so do the rats and mice around the stables, who keep eating all my hoof oil brushes which have it on.

It is that time of year
The spring grass is coming through fast now, so please make sure that you do not allow your horse or pony to put on weight or succumb to laminitis.

Infectious disease
I am now of the opinion that Strangles should be made a notifiable disease, this disease is highly infectious (as is Foot and Mouth), and can be controlled with straightforward control measures.
