I use a fairly strong fly gel but it has no effect on clegs, those brown biting bloodsucking insects, anyone got a recipe?

Sorry, I don't know of anything, although you could try Avon's Skin So Soft as it works at repelling midges and many other flying horrors!

I have stumbled upon an amazing fly repellent, which is actually my deodorant - Aloe Evershield - a natural, solid stick of aloe with a light fragrance. You could try that, the flies hate it, and it leaves no marks when you use it. Lasts ages and is cheap to boot. You can order from www.aloe-europe.com and if you don't like it you get your money back.
