  • Crammed loads into Bug's trunks so my luggage wasn't overweight!

So today was your last day! What did you get up to? "Another sunny day so packed quickly to squash in a last swim and sunbathe this morning (refused to get back to England entirely white!) I soon discovered that although we had been told we were leaving on the 15th, it turned out that the flight was at 12.05am so that effectively we were actually leaving this evening! This meant I was going to have to rush to squash everything in! Said hello to Bug and then dashed off to do a last shopping and sightseeing trip this afternoon."

Fish in bags!

Ladies market

Where did you head off to? "I went to Ladies market on the Kowloon Peninsula (not far, basically between Sha Tin and Hong Kong Island). I got lots of little presents (not just for myself) and took pictures of fruit stalls with interesting fruits like dragon fruit and the fascinating fish market where the whole street has stalls covered in little plastic bags with coloured fish in them! I was surprised to bump into a number of people in Ladies' Market but was glad to have set off alone so I could go at my own pace."

I guess you had lots of packing to do too?! "Mel and I frantically packed all the trunks that were being collected at 6pm, I crammed in as much of my own stuff as possible as my luggage had seriously increased and I didn't want to be overweight at check-in! We then dashed back for showers to be ready for airport shuttles at 9pm." Are the horses flying today too? "No. They aren't leaving till tomorrow so I left our equine flight attendants long lists of instructions to ensure he travelled better than on the way out. Check-in was tricky for most as I expected, due to being overweight, but luckily I had judged my bags perfectly!"

So good-bye to Hong Kong? "Yes. I'm quite sad to be leaving! It has gone so quickly and I was really beginning to settle in to HK life! However there are so many things to look forward to at home after a month away."
