Does anyone else suffer terribly trying to find riding boots that fit comfortably? I am so frustrated about it, having searched the internet. Bar having them made to measure, I am at a loss as to where on earth I can find them to fit me. ARGH!!

I am a size 37 (UK4), but I need 49cm up the back and 34cm around the leg. This apparantly, is not a normal size for a human leg!!!!

Its easier to get jodhpur boots and quality chaps, though even the chaps vary in size quite a bit, i have some ariats which are medium yet no one in the yard fits them ....they are up for sale because they are too narrow and too tall for me, yet my last pair of ariats still fit after 10 years, but they are a different style and have an elastic insert.

I thought about that but I absolutely hate riding in boots and chaps. I had tried it once before and it didn't suit me at all.

I ride in Cavallo's now and am looking at trying some Sergio Grasso ones as Italian shoes are generally narrower anyway!!

Its such a pain!

I have exactly the same issue as you and have had two pairs made to measure in the past which I couldn't use. They were a complete waste of money, so that isn't necessarily the solution either. There are some newer styles and brands in Europe. I was recently sent a magazine (in German) called Bit which had some interesting ads for boots.

I buy all of my things from Germany as it is. I am extremely fortuante to have a couple of people who can supply me everything I use and at a portion of UK and Spanish prices.

There is one make of Italian boots, where the guy absolutely makes them to measure and they are gorgeous but they are also €1000 a pair!!! Having looked at all the options, I am simply going to have to accept a slightly too short leg to get the fit in width. Its madness really, I can't be the only person in the world with this shaped foot!!
