Oh, hahaha, the horse! I have ear plugs for her but have no real idea how to put them in and am concerned about damaging something in her ear.

I must admit I have never used 'proper' earplugs, just cotton wool (tampons are very useful in ponies and have a convenient cord for removal). Just make sure that you do not push them in too far - remember you have to get them out again. It is better to lose an earplug from it falling out rather than having to poke around trying to get out a stuck plug.
