After a few months of trying I finally managed to find five clear days in a row to escape to visit my mother on Mull! It took about 12 hours to get there on Monday, I set off in the Morning and once escaping the dreary Midlands the scenery helps to keep me awake, I took the longer route through the Great Glen to catch the more northern Lochaline ferry, the Oban one is much longer and more expensive.
I was spoilt by 3 days of incerdible blue sky and boiling sun, I immediately got burned to a frazzle reading on a bench the first morning having forgotten the clean air means stronger sun! I spent the next two days trying to get rid of the annoying tan lines! I was treated to endless favourite meals, all locally caught, venison, crab, lobster, prawns and mussels to name a few! I took hundreds of
photos of my mother's efforts in the garden, that is now open to the public, if no one visits one day she gets quite offended now! We also went for many walks, the views were breathtaking in such perfect weather. It was such heaven to get away from all the caos down south, health and safety rules gone mad, political correctness, silly rules, maddening roads, bossy power happy people...
Today I endured the awful drive back, I always hate reaching the Midlands in rush hour traffic and loosing my sense of humour in queue after queue with only another motorway to look forward to!
