Was anyone here at Sapey yesterday? It was unaffiliated but I’m pretty sure the courses for the 'intro' and 'pre-novice' were pretty much the same as for BE. I thought that is was an excellent event. The course was lovely, though it still asked some questions. All in all a beautiful event... that is until I tried to get my score! For some reason there was no 'score board' only a A4 page per class which was put up when the class finished. So I duly waited for my class to finish for my score. Then I waited quarter of an hour more, still no sign of a result, even though we'd been given our dressage sheets. I asked how long the scores would be and I was told 'soon' so I waited. Half an hour later, now an hour since the class had finished I asked again and was told that if I had a long way to travel (I did and it was now ten to six) that I should go and the results would be up on the website.
Now I know it takes a lot of helpers and volunteers to run events, but I’ve done scoring before and we worked hard and got the scores up quickly. Having had a stop xc I doubt I came anywhere, all I would have liked is an indication of how I compared, which could easily have been shown by putting up some dressage and show jumping scores. Such a shame because I had a fab day but as the scores are not yet on the website I’ve no idea how I did!

Well done you RR on your trip to Sapey, shame about the stop (naughty pony) I hate it when it takes forever to get scores up. I too have worked in the scorers thingamee and feel that although an unaffiliated is not run to the same standards as BE events, I do feel that they should stil try to get the scores up as soon as possible, I competed there a few years ago in the unaff and I had the same problem. It took forever to get the scores out, I finished all my phases by 1pm and by 4pm I finally got my dressage score on the board - Mc rubbish!!!!!!
But to any of the organisers that may or may not be reading my post........thank you for running the unaff one days as I think it gives Joe public the chance to go round a well built course without the need to pay the larger prices associated with BE. :o)
