I read recently that there is a conversation taking place with the 'powers that be' in eventing about continuing the season on. Obviously, there would be an even higher risk of cancellation for organisers to continue right throughout the year and not that many venues would have the right type of ground anyway. But if the option is a longer JAS season, can I make a suggestion that the JAS series be expanded to include dressage, so combined training of sorts? Many venues have large enough facilities to do this and it would make the outing so much more worthwhile. You could probably also justify limiting a horse to one class which would help things to run more efficiently as well, and 2 phases would certainly be closer to sport JAS is meant to be emulating! Any takers?

I like what they do at Weston Lawn, you do a dressage test then a round of jumping on a course that is half show jumps and half mock XC jumps. More of those would be excellent.

Getting events to run in the north is hard enough, I'm talking from Witton up, and that's in the summer due to bad weather. To think of extending the season would not be realistic. However I do think more JAS would be welcome and would attract a number of competitiors. The Scottish arena event series also attracts a number of competitiors.
