About this video

Sophie Christiansen is an amazing athlete. Cerebral Palsy makes it difficult for her to control her muscles and it affects her speech but she is fiercely competitive. Before riding, Sophie competed in wheelchair half marathons. As a member of the GB Para squad, she's been a prolific medal winner at two Olympics and numerous Championships. Sophie is studying maths at university so she "can get a decent job" she tells Fiona Price. In 2009 (age 21) Sophie was awarded an MBE. We watch Sophie's test and feedback, and find out about the challenges of competing in walk. Sophie entertains Fiona and Lambrusco in her interview afterwards ('09).

sarahpayne1 5 Sep 2010 Wow, What an incredible girl Sophie is. I'm trying to find different words to use to describe how I felt watching the video but I too was so touched to not only watch Sophie ride so beautifully but also the delightful bond she and Lambrussco have. I am inspired! Well done to both of you.
Rigsby 23 Jun 2010 A wonderful partnership between horse and rider. A joy to watch.
trinnywinny 7 Apr 2010 What an inspiration, I came away from my riding lesson today feeling really frustrated with myself as I felt my quality of riding was poor. After watching Sophie and Lambrusco connect I now know relaxation is key - something I definately lack. Thankyou to you both this video has taught me that patience definately pays.
Sophie Christiansen 15 Sep 2009 Hi everyone! Thanks for your kind words. It makes a difference knowing that we have so much support!
