Horse Hero meet Sophie at Para Squad training before the European Champs' '09. We observe her warm up with trainer Angela, and watch Sophie ride a medium test in front of an international para judge, who offers feedback afterwards. Sophie talks to Fiona Price about her extraordinary year so far, the challenges of riding the enormous Noki and why she competes in able-bodied dressage where she is successful up to Prix St Georges, and the first para rider to be on an able-bodied young rider squad. Sophie also talks about her aspirations for the European Champs'. She goes on to excel herself a few weeks later, taking triple gold!

Pav1324 15 Feb 2010 I know Noki from when he was about four and Pippa Fisher was riding him, he's such a lovely horse - so kind and gentle - you ride him beautifully.

Sophie Wells 11 Sep 2009 Hi Caroline, The judge was Hanneka Gerristen, an international FEI Para Dressage judge from Holland. She lives very close to Adelinde Cornelissen with Parzival!! Apparently Adelinde hacks to see Hanneka quite a lot to try and chill him out! How cool is that?! She also knew alot about Totilas! We were so privilaged to have her at our training for couple of days we did. She spoke a lot of sense and everything was very clear and helpful. She went on to judge us all at the Europeans! caroline 11 Sep 2009 What a feisty young lady - I can see why she has achieved so much sucess and what a motivated horses....he looks very capable. Fiona just out of interest who was the international para judge??? I liked her take on the ride.
