About this video

This is the follow-up to the 'Tai Chi basics on the ground' video, where James Shaw worked on the principles of Tai Chi for riders with Horse Hero's Fiona Price. Here Fiona borrows the ex racehorse Tas (who has an impressive pedigree and was bred by the Aga Khan) but who is not especially easy in the mouth, to apply her learning. Fiona finds there is so much to absorb, from dropping the breath to being conscious of her seat bones, turning the sternum in the opposite direction to her belly button, riding like a 'monkey' and keeping her elbows forward. Though her brain hurts by the end of the session, Fiona discovers this is powerful stuff indeed!

xp 1 Mar 2010 Thank you James Shaw! You will transform the experience of dressage for all of us with your Tai Chi teachings. Tai chi rocks!
prelim 10 Jan 2010 Brilliant and well done, great opportunity to practise this while exercise is so restricted with weather! Keep them coming Fiona!
Alirules 14 Dec 2009 Well done Fiona. Thank you for your input during the video. It helps put the exercise into perpective for us. I am off to try it on my horses. Keep up the great work!
ChrisW 26 Nov 2009 Without Fiona's input difficult stuff would seem just about impossible! Well done!
Pegasus77 1 Nov 2009 Reminded me of so many training sessions, focussing on oneself whilst riding a strange horse is not easy, full marks to Fiona.
