About this video
Jon Pitts is a fitness trainer to Team GBR riders. He takes this session for Horse Hero with Laura Bechtolsheimer and eventers Annabel Wigley and Louisa Brassey. Jon explains how improving your pelvic balance can give your performance the edge and our guinea pigs demonstrate how you can do this from the comfort of your own home! (In a separate video interview, Jon tells us that William Fox-Pitt attributes pelvic balance to helping him avoid a tumble on Tamarillo!) Presented by Fiona Price.

enjoyriding 3 Jan 2011 As a physio I obviously find this stuff fascinating! This was good stuff, although I would have to say if you want to really get to grips with core stability and the profound way it can improve your riding the go for Pilates, Pilates, Pilates! Learning to activate those deep core stabilising muscles can undoubtedly allow us to move much more efficiently and with greater balance and sensitivity - all the big pluses for our trusty steeds! Love it!
C Chow 20 Jun 2010 These are similar to mats exercises in pilates. They are great!
