Laura has only known Telwell (Alf's potential successor) for a few weeks. Dr B explains that Telwell (Willow) has already done some young horse Grand Prix classes in Germany and as a result his training is advanced for his age at the expense of the basics. To help Laura and Willow get to know each other they are working on harmony and consistency with no tricks! Willow needs to understand that when Laura puts her leg on he must go forwards into the bridle, not just lift his legs higher! The focus in this early session is on half halts and basic lateral work. Dr B also explains what they were looking for in their search for a horse like Willow.
