So you're off home now? "Yes. Not really sure what time it was when I got back but when the alarm goes off at 8am I feel decidedly short of sleep! The plane leaves at around midday, so there is a frantic packing attempt before jumping into a taxi to the airport. It's only when I'm on the plane that I get a chance to reflect on what's happened."
What's next? "From my perspective I'm not sure what happens now: I think there has been a real change in culture with all the riders I work with and everyone is thinking more about their preparation generally. Clearly, some of the other top teams and individuals are also thinking that way, so I feel it is really important that we try to push on. However, I really don't know whether I have a role moving forwards and I guess this is dependent on funding and management decisions. It's going to be interesting over the next few weeks."
But overall have you enjoyed your Olympic experience? "It's been the most fantastic experience, full of highs and lows which are part of sport. It's also been frustrating at times, and at others immensely rewarding. Having worked in other sports, I have to say that the equestrian sports have been the most fun to work in, and I only hope that I get the opportunity to continue. I hope everyone has enjoyed my blog over the last few weeks!"
