About this video

Team physio' Andy Thomas talks to Fiona Price about how he and the other squad professionals help athletes to get in touch with their physical weaknesses and imbalances, and then fix them. "All riders have weaknesses, it's just that the top guys are better at masking them", he says! Andy also explains the particular challenges men and women face as regards their 'conformation' and performance and how human problems are detrimental to horses! Caroline Griffiths, co-ordinator for dressage, talks about the aims of lottery funded 'World Class' and we watch Nicky Crisp ride an Inter' I on Pasoa, for judge Francis Verbeek.

VickiF 14 Jan 2011 Another great, informative video. I love anything to do with the biomechanics of horse and rider. Fab job, well done HH!
Fiona Price 25 Apr 2009 Thanks Kathy. It's so nice to hear you guys are enjoying what we are doing. We love it but it's full on and when we get bogged down in technical issues, eg. in this video, our sound failed on Frances Verbeek so we couldn't include her test feedback, it can be frustrating!
kathy.colman 25 Apr 2009 Fiona, your interviewing style is both intelligent and informative. Love all the training video's... I'm spreading the word. Thank you for creating an excellent, easy to use equestrian site. You and your team are the best!
Fiona Price 18 Apr 2009 Interesting comments from physio' Andy Thomas about how male and female physiology creates a very different feel on a horse. Also, how unlike any other sport there is no uniformity in build of riders which makes looking after elite athletes so much more difficult and personal.
oliver 17 Apr 2009 Realy good clip! You ask all the right questions which breaks the information down to make it easy to understand. Thank you!
