About this video
Dressage rider, Hannah Biggs, has an unusual resident in her Dorset yard, a stunning 7 year old, dapple grey Andalusian stallion called Torrijo (Torri) who she's aiming at PSG this year. Hannah shows us how she tactfully manages his exuberant nature and extravagant movement. She also explains (with great clarity) a variety of movements from transitions and the contact, to shoulder in, travers, renvers and half pass. We challenge you not to fall in love with this magnificent horse! We did and we will be returning to film more in the future!

GK 20 Jan 2010 Hi Hannah, many thanks for taking the time to respond! That's really reassuring to know that he is judged as fairly as any of your other horses as he is not the typical stamp of warmblood that is so popular for the sport these days - it gives me inspiration for mine whom is similar in stamp!! Can I also ask whether you still have the lovely Beans?!
Hannah Biggs 10 Jan 2010 Hi GK, thank you for your kind comments. Yes I have started training the changes with him and they can be quite explosive at times! I don't ask for any more than 3 or 4 changes in one session so the tension never gets too high. I have competed him and he has reached the Winter BD finals. On the whole the judges mark him very fairly and give comments that would be just as applicable to any type of horse.
GK 30 Dec 2009 Hi Hannah, firstly can I say what a super video of a super horse, the harmony between you is wonderful to watch. I was wondering whether you have started changes with him yet and whether the anticipatory nature of him coupled with his desire to always perform for a 10 has led you to any tension issues in training? Also, have you competed him and are the judges becoming more familiar with marking his type of breed more fairly?
Hannah Biggs 10 Sep 2009 Mandeigh and Carolyn - I am very flattered, thank you. I wish you lots of luck with your boys. Bellaofarabia - unfortunately due to clashing dates and a very busy summer schedule we missed the BAPSH this year!
Mandeigh 12 Aug 2009 This is still my absolute favourite video. As an owner of a PRE, its so insipring to watch Torri working so calmly and without the typical not so good traits of the breed, like a jerky knee action etc. I watch this video over an over and keep a mental image of Hannah nd Torri in my mind when I'm schooling my boy.
