About this video
4 star event rider, Harry Meade, rides his bold and genuine intermediate eventer, Wild Lone, a 7 year old whose canter isn't his best asset! In this exercise, Harry combines jumping with circles to improve engagement and balance in the canter and to get the horse thinking ahead and landing on the correct lead. An instructive (and delightful) piece which you can practise at home and which will benefit your horse's cross country as well as his flat work! (See Fiona Price's video diary for the making of this piece!)

Tx 8 Jun 2009 This looks a great exercise, thanks Harry!
forever hopeful 21 May 2009 Harry is a super jockey and makes a lot of sense. Definitely going to try this with my youngster and see if the rythem is anywhere near as good as Harrys!!!
Fiona Price 29 Nov 2008 I just did and can report that it's a very handy exercise indeed. Showed up a slight lack of balance on a tight left canter circle on my horse which I need to work on but otherwise, produced a lovely engaged canter which in turn created a fab' jump and within a couple of tries the horse was spontaneously changing leg without being asked!
