About this video

In part 2, four star eventer Alex Peternell contests the jumping phases in the Advanced at Highclere, riding AP Uprising. The show jumping is running late which adds stress. Alex tells Fiona Price he intends to ride the rhythm and the canter, and not get hung on individual fences. However, he has a bout of nerves before the start and later explains how he overcomes this to ride a virtually foot perfect round. He goes clear cross country but Alex isn't entirely happy with his round. After the necessary 'post mortem', Alex says everything has to have a positive take! Priceless footage which takes us right inside Alex's head in a high pressure environment.

Loula 1 Nov 2010 Lovely and inspirational. Thank you!!!
velvet 30 Oct 2010 I think it's very generous of Alex to be so open and let us get inside his mind! For those of us who get nervous or beat ourselves up over mistakes it makes us realise that we're not alone.
Fiona Price 28 Oct 2010 Hi Mikey, there are a number of videos featuring Alex in the Training category of the Library (jumping section). We also have one more jumping one to come soon where Alex trains a young stallion at home. He also has a great blog on the site. Enjoy!
Mikey 27 Oct 2010 I love these videos. They are super helpful and Alex is so humble. He is in the process like the rest of us. I would love to see more of him.
