  • Kiwi flew a foot over the biggest hedge giving me the most amazing feeling!

Set off quite early to take Kiwi hunting with the Cotswold! I picked up Tom and his mare on the way, the detour involved slower lanes than I remembered, so by the time we had found a lay-by to park in and unload we didn't quite make the meet at Withington....oops! I don't like young horses spending too long getting bored at the meet, but didn't mean to miss it entirely, especially as it was at a friend's house. We had the most amazing day out, with endless jumping! Lots of rails, that I am not overly fond of queuing for, as Kiwi tries to charge them. Crossing through the Foxcote team chasing course brought better variety and some nice leaps on Kiwi's part, but the highlight by a long way were the three big hedges we encountered, the last one in particular was huge and had rails either side too! Kiwi flew a foot over it giving me the most amazing feeling and landing took quite a long time! The biggest thing he has ever jumped by miles.

The Cotswold Hunt The Hedge!

Washing down after huntingBefore going home Tom and I went back to take pictures of our horses dwarfed by the hedge! His mare jumped beautifully all day and was much admired. Back in Ablington we washed their legs by riding through the river bareback. I dashed back home and put Kiwi to bed before a quick shower as I was due to show my Olympic photo presentation to the South Berks PC! Other than some projector trouble to start with it went well I hope, I even had to speak into a microphone for the first time!
