Lisa Venables rides the sharp 5 year old ex-racing mare Goldie, on the first day of her re-training. Goldie has been off the track for 3 months and has been 'let down' with regards to her feed and quiet hacking. Lisa says "the school must be seen as a place of relaxation for Goldie," and stresses the importance of quieting her own energy and tuning in to the horse. With the help of Goldie's owner Fliss, Lisa mounts up and begins in walk. Progressing to trot, Lisa mixes aids the mare is used to with new ones, to build Goldie's confidence. Lisa says, "like riding a baby horse, the process is slow but kindness is the key!" (Part 2 of 3)
