Taz's work has progressed considerably in the last few months since being backed. Fiona explains the more unusual techniques she has used to teach him the 'S-L-O-W' word. "He's razor sharp, so it's like sitting on a gazelle" she says! Taz arrived in a 'feral' state 10 months ago with a long list of problems, not least of which was bolting. Destined for endurance, Fiona has tailored his basic training to the requirements of the sport, such as gate shutting and hill work, and he must learn rhythm and balance in his flatwork to have the best chance of completing a 100 mile race-ride sound. Taz has also been bravely negotiating some scary hazards out hacking!
