Louisa Brassey's top tack & equipment tips for eventing

  • Remove any martingale stoppers from your reins before the dressage to avoid looking untidy.
  • Ensure your flash strap fastens downwards on the outside, away from the bit and is secured by a keeper.
  • Don't soap your saddle in case it rains.
  • Don't polish the inside of your boots to avoid them being squeaky or slipping (depending on the weather!).
