Lucy Graham 24 Nov 2008 You need to make sure that you stand with your feet shoulder width apart and then brace your upper arms against your body to help keep the camera steady in your arms. Once I've been filming all day I find my lower back is a bit sore as I spend a lot of time keeping the muscles tense to keep the strength and steadiness in my upper body. Don't over-use the zoom facility and do it gently when you do use it. Also, when panning (e.g. following a horse moving left and right) do it gently and use your waist as a pivot to rotate your upper body. This keeps the camera steady with your body and should make the picture as clear as possible. One final thing... be very aware of the light levels on your subject so that the viewer can see them clearly.
jesster 19 Nov 2008 I notice that there is a facility on the site to 'upload your own video'. Could you suggest some tips that might be useful for us when producing our own videos of our horses? Like how to stop camera shake or choosing camera angles? Many thanks
